The first permanent incarnation of AngloThai, following a series of successful supper clubs and festival appearances.

Husband and wife team John (twice shortlisted YBF ‘Chef of the Year) and Desiree Chantarasak are set to open their first restaurant. Following several highly acclaimed pop-ups and residencies, the duo will now bring AngloThai, their unique take on Thai-British cuisine with a European-focused wine list, to their first bricks-and-mortar venue on Seymour Place in Marylebone. The builidng houses the 50-cover ground-floor dining room with open kitchen with interiors by leading Thai-American designer May Redding, and draws inspiration from Thailand’s contemporary design movement, while evoking the warm and comforting feel of a well-loved home. 

AngloThai marries bold, flavour-driven cooking with seasonal ingredients sourced within the British Isles. Chef and co-founder John will serve his interpretation of Thai cuisine, drawing inspiration from both his Thai and British heritage. Expect a menu of small plates such as curried pig's head terrine, raw Dexter Beef with Makhwaen Laab spice & sorrel and mussels in pork fat jungle curry. The food will be complemented by a list of low-intervention, natural wines.

Brixham Crab with Exmoor caviar and coconut ash crackers, Ryall Farm hogget massaman with black fig, and monkfish jungle curry with holy basil and to finish carrot & sea buckthorn parfait.
